FinOps Consultant – DACH Region

Job Type: Full Time

About It’s Value

It’s Value is a specialist FinOps and Technology Business Management (TBM) consultancy with offices in Utrecht, London, and Düsseldorf. We help enterprise organizations connect cloud and technology to measurable business value — through governance, operating model design, tooling implementation, and organizational change.

We are growing our DACH practice and looking for a FinOps consultant who can hit the ground running, work directly with clients, and contribute to building something meaningful in a start-up environment.

The Role

This is a hybrid role: part client-facing delivery, part-time practice contribution. You will work on FinOps engagements across the DACH region — running assessments, designing operating models, implementing tooling, and driving the process and cultural change that makes FinOps stick. You will also contribute to how we grow and position the practice, without carrying a formal sales title.

We are not prescriptive about seniority. We are looking for the right person — someone who knows what good FinOps looks like, can operate independently from day one, and is comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with a growing consultancy.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and deliver FinOps engagements: maturity assessments, operating model design, tooling implementation, optimization sprints
  • Work directly with client stakeholders — including IT, finance, application engineering, and C-level — to drive accountability and change
  • Configure and optimize FinOps tooling (native tooling/Cloudability and others); deliver insight, not just dashboards
  • Support cost allocation design, tagging governance, commitment management, and reporting across multi-cloud environments
  • Contribute to proposals, scoping, and client development as the DACH practice grows
  • Use AI tooling actively in your daily work — to move faster, build smarter, and deliver better outcomes for clients

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Fluent in German and English — written and spoken; you will work with clients in both languages
  • Hands-on FinOps experience — you have done this work, not just studied it
  • Capable of driving organizational change, not just configure tools or build reports
  • Operationally independent from day one — you can structure an engagement, run a workshop, and write a proposal without handholding
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to a start-up environment where not everything is defined in advance
  • Active user of AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) in your daily work — not AI-aware, AI-capable
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and taking ownership beyond your formal role, and have the ability to adapt quickly in an environment where processes and structures are still evolving.

Strongly Preferred

  • Azure, AWS and GCP experienced from a FinOps perspective
  • Experience with FinOps tooling, native cloud cost tools and or third-party tooling
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or equivalent practical grounding in the FinOps Framework
  • Able to build lightweight scripts or automation with AI assistance for client or internal use
  • Awareness of AI cost management as an emerging FinOps domain

What We Offer

  • Contractor engagement, with flexibility on structure and rate
  • Remote work within DACH, with occasional client travel
  • A role with real scope — you will contribute to building the practice, not just executing inside it
  • A small, senior team with deep FinOps and TBM expertise
  • The freedom to work the way you work best — we care about outcomes, not process

How to Apply

Send a short introduction and your profile to us directly. We do not need a formal cover letter — tell us what you have done, what you are good at, and why this role makes sense for you now.
